We are currently recruiting for the following schemes:
- Underwriting graduate programme (deadline 1 July)
- Actuarial graduate programme (deadline 26 July)

UNDERWRITING GRADUATE PROGRAMME
The Role
The scheme is a 2 year rotational programme where you will develop a solid working knowledge of the principles of underwriting through exposure to key areas of the business, such as risk management, claims, third party syndicate management and underwriting. This will provide you with a clear understanding of how our underwriting business operates. We require individuals who have a strong ambition to develop into underwriting roles.
Development Opportunities
- Within your first week you will be provided with a structured induction programme to prepare you for your career at Chaucer
- The Learning and Development team will work with you to devise your own personal development plan
- Throughout each placement you will receive continuous development through self-study, classroom and structured on-the-job training
- You will be fully supported through the CII Advanced Diploma professional qualification and will be expected to attain ACII status within 3 years
- You will receive regular performance reviews to help you track your progress
- 2.1 degree in a business or academic subject
- Full valid UK work permit
- Able to start in October 2010
- Able to work with complex analytical information

ACTUARIAL GRADUATE PROGRAMME
The Role
The scheme is a multi-year rotational programme where you will develop a solid working knowledge of Actuarial practices through exposure to key areas of the department such as reserving, pricing and underwriting management. This will provide you with a clear understanding of how our business operates. We require individuals who have a strong ambition to develop into Actuarial roles.

- Within your first week you will be provided with a structured induction programme to prepare you for your career at Chaucer
- The Learning and Development team will work with you to devise your own personal development plan
- Throughout each placement you will receive continuous development through self-study, classroom and structured on-the-job training
- You will be fully supported through the Actuarial professional qualification

Our Requirements
- 2.1 (or predicted) degree in a Maths or Maths-related subject
- 3 or more good 'A' levels, including Maths at A grade
- Desire to sit the Actuarial Exams
- Full valid UK work permit
- Able to start in October 2010
