Andrew joined Chaucer Syndicates Limited in January 2008 following a 30 year career in the broking sector. He started with the Sedgwick group in the Marine Division and subsequently spent 6 years in the United States with their subsidiary Southern Marine & Aviation Underwriters. In 1995 Andrew moved to Marsh and ultimately assumed responsibility for their Marine and Energy practice in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Andrew is the Chairman of the LMA Marine Committee.

Nick joined Chaucer Syndicate 1084 in 1998 to assume responsibility for writing the political risk account. Prior to this, he was a Political Risk Underwriter for AIG. Nick joined the London market as a specialist political risk broker in 1991, having participated on the Graduate Training Scheme at Willis Faber and Dumas.

Simon Le Mare BA, FCII was the Cargo and Specie Underwriter at the Chester Syndicate prior to becoming Cargo and Specie underwriter at Chaucer Syndicate 1084 in 1994. Simon has been a member of Joint Cargo Committee since 1995 and a member of Technical Clauses Committee since 1996. Simon is the insurance representative on Metropolitan Police Operation Grafton. He is also Chairman of the JCC and the Airport Security Working Party and Chairman of the Metals Working Party.

Philip has 20 years of marine underwriting experience. He joined Chaucer in April 2000 from CIGNA, now part of ACE, where he was Worldwide Marine Underwriter. While at CIGNA, he was Deputy Marine Underwriter in Paris from 1993 to 1996. Philip is responsible for the hull, war, marine liability and satellite accounts at Chaucer. He is also the UK representative on the IUMI Stats Committee.

In 1998, Andrew joined Chaucer Syndicates as a Marine Division Underwriting Assistant, being promoted to Assistant Underwriter in 2002 for Marine and Political Risk. The Chartered Insurance Institute accepted Andrew as an Associate in 2004. Chaucer appointed Andrew as a Deputy Class Underwriter in 2006, with responsibility for developing Syndicate 1084's Global Civil Unrest and Terrorism Facultative and Treaty portfolio. He is currently a member of the Lloyd's Terrorism Panel.

Tom Shearman is the Class Underwriter for both the Cargo and Specie accounts. Tom has worked for Chaucer since 1995 and has specialised in cargo and specie underwriting since 1998. He was accepted as an Associate in the Chartered Institute of Insurance in June 2010.

After a year with the Hull and Liability Team, where he coordinated the implementation of a risk modelling system, he transferred to Political Risk in June 2008 to support the underwriting team. He is currently studying toward his ACII qualifications.
