Chaucer MENA brings a dedicated local presence and in-depth local knowledge to Chaucer’s smart risk solutions for brokers and cedants in the region. We write a broad range of specialty insurance and treaty business all underpinned with the A-rated financial strength of Chaucer Syndicate 1084 at Lloyd’s.

We work closely with international and local brokers to offer regional clients a lead capacity for a broad range of specialty treaty, property and political products on a direct and facultative basis.

Fawzi Omari is the Senior Executive Officer of our Dubai office, with responsibility for delivering our smart risk solutions and service expertise to clients in the Middle East and North Africa, where he has excellent relationships with many brokers and cedants.  Since joining Chaucer in February 2015, Fawzi has directed development of our underwriting in the MENA region and managed the establishment of our regional office in Dubai.

Fawzi has in-depth specialty broking and underwriting expertise gained over more than a decade in the industry, most recently as Political Violence Underwriter at Lloyd’s with Chaucer in London.

Chaucer writes a global portfolio of property business on a direct and facultative basis.

We have a growing appetite in the property sector, supported by a team of experienced underwriters and knowledgeable claims professionals. We are renowned for our rigorous and independent evaluation of risk, which enables us to write fully-tailored solutions to meet the precise needs of each challenge.


Chaucer deploys market leading specialist underwriters to write international and US reinsurance business for all major classes of business. 

We have worked hard to grow and strengthen our longterm relationships and are proud to work with some of the leading businesses in the world. Our teams combine an innovative problem solving approach with years of market experience. 

Working from offices around the world, we service a portfolio of London Market and international clients. We have our own view of risk and are well-known for our market insight and rigorous research which informs fully-tailored reinsurance solutions.

Our dedicated claims teams work alongside our specialist treaty underwriters, providing fast and intelligent responses to claims of all sizes and significance.

We like to lead business as this enables us to apply our expertise in claims management and build stronger relationships with our clients.

Political Violence

We offer lead capacity in political violence, which includes sabotage and terrorism, terrorism liability, SRCC and malicious damage and event cancellation due to terrorism.

Credit and Political Risk

Our lines offered are CEND, CCP, contract frustration and credit including non-payment and non-performance by public and private obligors, exchange transfer, non-honouring of documentary letters of credit and the wrongful calling of on-demand bonds. We will also cover war on land and political violence in conjunction with the other perils written. 


Chaucer writes a range of US and international casualty business on a direct, facultative and delegated authority basis. Our specialist lines team is one of Chaucer's largest, and a recognised leader in the market. Our capabilities span multiple lines, each utilising our expertise and first class service.

Our core offering includes international general liability and professional indemnity, financial risks and North American professional lines, as well as newer product lines we have introduced in response to changing markets conditions and emergent risks.


We protect marine risks, including coverage for general cargo, oil shipments, project cargo for infrastructure, and hull and machinery risks, including increased value, loss of hire, loss of earnings and builder’s risk. We also have an online cargo product for freight forwarders.
