Ed was appointed Active Underwriter for Syndicate 1084 on 1 January 2017 and is responsible for the strategic development of the syndicate. Prior to that, he was responsible for the development of Chaucer’s Property Division and underwrote as part of the International Facultative Property Team.
Kelan joined Chaucer in July 2015 as Energy Practice Head from Arch Insurance, where he was Head of Energy. He has previously worked at American International Group.
Colin is Head of the Property and Political Violence Practice. Colin has more than 25 years of successful experience operating in the Global Insurance and Reinsurance space; he is a Fellow, Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII) and Chartered Insurer.
He joined Chaucer in October 2014 from Aon Underwriting Managers where he was London Market Underwriting Director, with responsibility for teams writing property and terrorism for the Lloyd’s and London markets. Prior to this, Colin held senior global property underwriting positions at Jubilee and Travelers
Laura leads our Cyber Practice, with responsibility for developing solutions for clients in this area. She is a Cyber security and technology specialist, business lead and underwriter, combining an appetite for growth with her in depth knowledge and expertise on Cyber security and operational risk management.
Laura joined Chaucer in 2012 as a consultant before becoming Head of Technology Services in 2014 where she played a key role in the successful launch of a leading global cloud provider as well as improving the efficiency of the business as a whole through technology and automation.
Michael Dawson began his career at Lloyd’s in 1979 and joined Cox in 1986. In 1991 he formed and became the underwriter of specialist nuclear syndicate 1176 and was later appointed to the board of the company in 1994. He is a director of Pool Reinsurance (Nuclear) Limited and is deputy chairman of the Management Committee of the Nuclear Risk Insurers Ltd (NRI). Since 2016 Michael holds a non-executive role to the holdings board of Lancashire. He has served on the council of Lloyd's from 1998-2001 and on the Lloyd’s market board from 1998 to 2002.
Jonathan was appointed Active Underwriter for Syndicate 2088 in April 2018 and is responsible for the management and strategic development of the syndicate. In addition he is also Head of Underwriting at Chaucer Dublin, our insurance company in Ireland. Prior to joining China Re Syndicate 2088 Jonathan worked at XL Catlin in Bermuda for over 10 years as Head of Casualty. In 2000 Jonathan was one of three founding members of QBE Syndicate 2000, a £25m Casualty Treaty syndicate that grew to be a £200m multi-line P&C syndicate. Prior to QBE Jonathan worked at Zurich Re and CNA Re in London.
