Ed was appointed Active Underwriter for Syndicate 1084 on 1 January 2017 and is responsible for the strategic development of the syndicate. Prior to that, he was responsible for the development of Chaucer’s Property Division and underwrote as part of the International Facultative Property Team.
Peter is Head of Aviation and has a wealth of experience in all areas of the business. He is widely recognised for his technical industry knowledge and has served on a number of Lloyd’s Aviation committees. He has responsibility for writing worldwide accounts for Airline, General Aviation and Aerospace.
Mark joined Chaucer in 2010 and runs the Casualty Division which writes worldwide specialty casualty business. Mark has over 30 years of market experience, having previously worked at Argo Global, where he was joint active underwriter of Syndicate 1200, and at Amlin for 10 years.
Kelan joined Chaucer in July 2015 as Energy Practice Head from Arch Insurance, where he was Head of Energy. He has previously worked at American International Group.
Andrew Voke is Head of Production and the Marine, Aviation and Political Risk Practice. He has over 30 years of experience in the market predominantly in the Marine and Energy broking sector and is a past Chairman of the LMA Marine Committee. Within Andrew’s responsibilities are business development and the Chaucer offices overseas.
Colin was appointed Head of Property on 1 January 2017. Colin is an experienced international property practitioner and chartered insurer with over 25 years of underwriting experience.
He joined Chaucer in October 2014 as Class Underwriter from Aon Underwriting Managers where he was London Market Underwriting Director, with responsibility for a team writing property and terrorism for the Lloyd’s and London markets. Prior to this, Colin held senior global property underwriting positions at Jubilee and Travelers.
Paul Blight is the Head of Treaty, the largest practice within Chaucer. He has over 25 years of treaty market experience and is a respected lead for all lines of casualty treaty and retrocessional business. Paul has direct oversight of all the treaty business written globally, including that written by Chaucer's hub offices in the US, Singapore and Copenhagen.
Michael Dawson began his career at Lloyd’s in 1979 and joined Cox in 1986. In 1991 he formed and became the underwriter of specialist nuclear syndicate 1176 and was later appointed to the board of the company in 1994. He is a director of Pool Reinsurance (Nuclear) Limited and is deputy chairman of the Management Committee of the Nuclear Risk Insurers Ltd (NRI). Since 2016 Michael holds a non-executive role to the holdings board of Lancashire. He has served on the council of Lloyd's from 1998-2001 and on the Lloyd’s market board from 1998 to 2002.
